Webinar: Pressure Ulcer Versus Pressure Injury-Why You Should Care

In the last decade or so, there has been a major shift in the terminology surrounding skin defects that result from prolonged pressure.  It is now important to differentiate between pressure “ulcer” and pressure “injury.”  This webinar will explain the difference between the two terms, when you should be using each, and the difference in diagnosis coding that accompanies these two terms.

At the end of Dr. Lehrman’s presentation stay for a Question & Answer session where he will answer any questions that you might have.

What You Will Learn:

  • Differentiate between pressure ulcer and pressure injury.
  • Choose the correct diagnosis code for skin defects that result from prolonged pressure.
  • Differentiate between the CMS and NPIAP definitions of pressure injury.
