ULCERATION, RIGHT 5TH TOE

PATIENT: 55-year-old Caucasian female
MEDICAL HISTORY:
Non-diabetic, non-compromised patient self-treated with chemically impregnated corn pads. The patient presented with localized inflammation and discharge from beneath the hyperkeratotic tissue.
TREATMENT:
Sharp debridement of the necrotic tissue revealed an ulcer penetrating to the joint capsule. Started on daily dressing changes with AMERIGEL® Hydrogel Wound Dressing. (Fig. 1A)
RESULTS:
Ulcer considered healed in one week. (Fig. 1B)
