This fee schedule is typically updated quarterly. Updates usually result in links for four different fee schedules for each previous calendar year and however many of the current year’s fee schedules have been posted to date. The number of current-year fee schedules available on the site will vary based on how many quarters of the current year have passed. As this is being written in December 2022 only the first quarter 2023 fee schedule is posted at the moment.
Navigating the DMEPOS Fee Schedule Site
For each calendar year, the link for the first quarter fee schedule is labeled, “DMEXX-A” with the “XX” representing the last two digits of the calendar year. Typically, the final letter changes to “B” for the second quarter, “C” for the third quarter, and “D” for the fourth quarter. For example, the link for the current fee schedule, effective January, 2023, is “DME23 – A”.
2023 Increases!
The 2023 CMS DME Fee Schedule contains some nice increases to the fees associated with the surgical dressings available from AMERX. For example, the fee associated with A6010 (Collagen based wound filler, dry form, sterile, per gram of collagen), used for HELIX3-CP® Collagen Powder, increased from $37.89 per unit in 2022 to $41.19 per unit in 2023.
When 30 units are dispensed, this results in a $99 increase compared to last year! There are also comparable increases associated with the fees for collagen pads, foam pads, and calcium alginate dressings.
