VERRUCAE PLANTARIS, RIGHT METATARSAL/HALLUX AREA, LASER REMOVAL
DATE: July 2009
PATIENT: 35-year-old Caucasian male
MEDICAL HISTORY:
Controlled type 2 diabetic, otherwise healthy, presenting with painful multiple plantar verrucae for 2 years. The patient was previously treated with salicylic acid applied daily, cryotherapy every two weeks, and also canthrone without success. (Fig. 1 – Pre-Op)
TREATMENT:
Laser surgery was performed and the patient was instructed to dress the wound with AMERIGEL® Wound Dressing daily and to return to the office in 48 hours. (Fig. 2 – 2nd day Post-Op)
RESULTS:
Patient compliant with daily dressing changes and achieved complete closure with minimal scarring in approximately 3 months. (Fig. 3 – Healed)
